About Me

I am now offering lessons via WhatsApp or Zoom to help ease the current social distancing guidelines.

I have been learning the piano since the age of nine and completed Grades 1 to 7 by the age of 15. After a break of a few years, I resumed my piano studies in my mid-20s, and passed Grade 8 within a year

I then studied for and passed the DipABRSM in piano performance whilst working full-time in 2008 and studied a wide range of classical pieces from Bach and Scarlatti to Scriabin and Hindemith, both for solo playing and for chamber music. I am currently taking lessons in composition and arranging from a pianist and musicologist who has many years teaching experience and have learnt from him many skills which are required to be an effective teacher.

I completed a final year degree course in Music from the Open University in 2013. This was a music history/analysis course dealing with a wide range of subjects including different topics relating to classical music from medieval times to the late 20th century and world music.

I teach piano, keyboard and music theory and have the knowledge and enthusiasm to inspire students of all ages in their study of classical music and can also provide lessons to those who wish to learn to play their favourite songs or pieces of music purely for pleasure, whether learning on piano/digital piano or electronic keyboard (with accompanying rhythms).

As well as teaching privately, I also give individual and group lessons to students at a Music School in Enfield (All Talents) and accompany singing/instrumental students for music exams (particularly ABRSM). Most of the students I have taught and have entered for exams have passed with either merit or distinction (between 50 to 75% of those entered).
